Grace before Truth (Jesus’ way >>> Religion’s way)

3 min read

About 2000+ years ago, religious people were the judges in the community. One day two people were caught in adultery, yet only one was apprehended (the lady). The religious people felt justified to condemn and stone her and they brought her to Jesus saying, “The law says we should stone such persons, now what do you say?” These religious people did all this just to test Jesus.

But Jesus just bent down and wrote on the ground with His finger, and then He made this statement, “He who is without sin, let him throw the first stone.” When the religious people heard this, they all dropped the stones and left, from the oldest to the youngest; till it was left with Jesus and the condemned lady. Then Jesus said, “Lady, I do not condemn you, but go now and leave your life of sin.” (John 8:1-11 paraphrased)

I share this story because most people feel condemned and rejected in this world. And Christians of our age still act like the religious people in Jesus’ age; we forget that the “church is a hospital for sinners and not a museum for saints.” We judge and condemn people a lot, without preaching the Gospel of grace.

Yet within each of us are sins we are asking for grace to let go off. Drop the stones, drop the condemnation, if you can’t share the Gospel of grace.
Jesus said, “My grace is sufficient for you…” Jesus didn’t condemn this adulterous lady, He offered grace. Yet after grace came truth: “Go and leave your life of sin.”

We’re not here to condemn you today, we’re here to share with you Jesus’ grace that covers all sin and to share with you His truth that you should leave your life of sin. Jesus loves you and He calls you today. If you want Jesus in your life, kindly pray with us:

Dear Heavenly Father, I accept your gift of salvation today. I confess I’m a sinner and today I want to leave my life of sin. Thank you for sending Jesus to die for me, thank you for your grace. Guide me to live a life that brings glory to your name, Amen!”

Congratulations!! Heaven greatly rejoices because of you. Keep in touch and let’s travel this path of faith and grace together.

Kindly share with friends and family.
