The Day Where Nothing Works

5 min read

Have you ever had a terrible day before? A day where nothing seemed to be working. You wake up grumpy, you just don’t feel so good; you forget your keys, etc.
Most of us have had those days where nothing seems to be working; on such days every little thing seems to be going left and wrong.

Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years draw near of which you will say, “I have no pleasure in them…”; In the day when the keepers of the house tremble, and the strong men are bent, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those who look through the windows are dimmed. #Bible

~ Ecclesiastes 12:1,3

There is a time coming when we will have little or no pleasure in our days on earth. Try visiting an elderly home, or the hospital or your really old relatives and confirm these truths…

Bible says, one day the keepers of the house (the hands) will tremble. Our hands are what we use make a home, put things in order, keep the house or home. But a day is coming when they will tremble; that day you can’t hold your phone as you’re doing now (your hands will be doing Harlem shake).

“The strong men are bent…” refers to your waist. One common complaint of old people is weakness/pain in their waist. In the interim, we can move and we have strength, but a time is coming when we will hardly stand or move without assistance or a stick.

That same waist you’ve been shaking at parties and twisting in various rooms, you’ll be holding it in pain and you’ll be bent over when walking.

A time when “the grinders cease because they are few”; your teeth will fall out and you may be left with just two, if you’re lucky four.

“And those who look through the windows,” referring to our eyes or our vision. Your eyes will be dimmed and most will need glasses to see.

In those days, the wise King Solomon is teaching us that we will have no pleasure in life. But now that we do, now that we are youth, healthy, strong, vibrant, full of energy, we can dance and party; Remember your Creator!!

When you’re young you have so much energy and life! And there are just few places you can spend that energy. If you’re not putting that energy into living and working for God, you’ll push it into living in the world and working for the devil.

One young man gave his testimony and said (paraphrased): “Right after SHS I noticed that older girls were interested in me and I liked them too. I ‘floored’ almost every older girl I found attractive. I had money too, and spent it on frivolous living (I’d buy party tables, deal in weed and weed toffee, etc).

One day a certain guy invited me to Church and after the preaching, I gave my life to Christ. It’s been a year down the line, and now I’m more happy and fulfilled. I don’t live that way any more; I’m winning souls to Jesus now and happily using my energy to serve the Lord!”

Beloved, make a profitable investment for your future by remembering your Creator now! Don’t say you’ll have time for God and His work after school, or when you start working, or get married or when you retire;

  1. We can’t predict what happens tomorrow; this life is not in your control, you could lose it tomorrow.
  2. What do you want to do for God when you’re weak, waist bent, no teeth, no energy? You won’t be able to much for Him!

Remember Him now, in the days of your strength and energy; in the days of your pleasure and beauty! Jesus is calling you to have a relationship with you dear friend, pick up the phone and answer Him.

If you want to give your life to Jesus, like the young man did and had his life turned around, pray this with me:

“Lord Jesus, I accept you into my life as my Lord and personal Saviour. I repent of my sins and take refuge in your cleansing blood. Come and be the Lord and Master of my life. Teach me to live a life worthy of my salvation, make me more like you. Amen!”

Congratulations!! Heaven rejoices because of you. If you prayed this prayer for the first time, or you just re-dedicated your life to Christ, we would like you to Contact us for a gift to help you on this new journey.

Stay blessed and share this with others.
