The Way of a Man with a Woman!

5 min read

“There are three things that are too amazing for me, four that I do not understand: …the way of a man with a young woman” ~ Proverbs 30:18-19.

  • The world was awoken to a rude shock when Prince Harry decided to take the hand of Meghan Markle, a black American woman, in marriage.
  • But we were in for an even greater shock when the two love birds decided to drop their royal status and privileges, in order to pursue their dream love life.
  • In another development, Princess Mako, a Japanese royal, gave up her royal status in order to marry her commoner boyfriend.

These and many other stories abound to show the extent people go in pursuit of love. The Bible says “the way of a man with a young woman is beyond understanding…” (You just can’t think far!).

As a child of God, it is important for you to subject your emotions and choices to the guidance of the Holy Spirit in matters of love.

No matter how you feel about that other person, a great deal of prayerful consideration should go into your choice of a life partner (Read Matt 1:19-20, Gen 24:12-14).

Matt 1:19-20
19 Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.
20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
Gen 24:12-14
12 Then he prayed, “Lord, God of my master Abraham, make me successful today, and show kindness to my master Abraham. 13 See, I am standing beside this spring, and the daughters of the townspeople are coming out to draw water. 14 May it be that when I say to a young woman, ‘Please let down your jar that I may have a drink,’ and she says, ‘Drink, and I’ll water your camels too’let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac. By this I will know that you have shown kindness to my master.”

We are cautioned by the wise king “not to awaken love until the time is right” (Songs of Solomon 2:7 NLT).

Be patient, invest much prayer and seek counsel before you make a move. May the Lord lead and help you to get it right in matters of the heart. ~ Rev Simon Ampofo (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100033615377598)

Every word of God is flawless; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.
Do not add to His words, or He will rebuke you and prove you a liar.
~ Proverbs 30:5-6

Every word of God is flawless…Wow! You recall Jesus said that God’s word fills us just like food does? “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God” (Matt 4:4).

Which means God’s word is a full healthy meal. Question is: Do you ‘eat’ God’s word?

Today I want to give you the opportunity to share a verse/passage of scripture from MEMORY; something you’ve ‘eaten’ before.

Join in and let’s celebrate the comfort, the strength and the power of God from His Word. This is mine: “Guard your heart with all diligence, for out of it springs the issues of life. ~ Proverbs 4:23.
