We invite you to join our Quiet Time Adventure and spend 90 days in the Gospels📖🔥🤗 (now till 31st December).
Let’s “tattoo” this Word📖 in our hearts!🤍
Today we’re reading Matthew 6 and it is just so loaded that I’ve been conflicted on what to share with you. We will share one or two lessons from one of my mentors with you, and we hope to learn from your lessons also.
“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” ~ Matthew 6:24 (NIV)
Would you agree that we live in a culture of materialism? The goal is to get more and more and more. It’s tough keeping your priorities right when you live in a society that’s all about “getting.”
The one with the most toys wins, right?
No! The one with the most toys still dies, whether or not you’ve got toys.

There is only one antidote to materialism: generosity.
- Every time you’re generous, you have a spiritual victory in your heart.
- Every time you’re generous, you store treasure in heaven and your heart goes towards heaven.
- Every time you’re generous, you break the grip of materialism in your life.
Why? Because materialism is all about getting—get, get, get, get! It is in our nature to get and to hold on. But every time you’re generous, you are breaking that grip and defeating materialism in your life. – Rick Warren.

“You cannot serve both God and money”. Notice it doesn’t say you “should not.” It says you “cannot.”
It’s impossible. You can’t have two number ones in your life. You have to choose what’s going to have first place in your heart.
But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.
- Choose God and choose generosity.
- It will transform your relationships with other people and your relationship with God.
- It will change you from the inside out as you learn to be generous like God is generous with you.

“Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven... that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly." Matthew 6:1-4 (paraphrased)
- Dear friend, there are rewards in God and in our walk with Him.
- When we are generous and do good deeds, with the right motives (at heart and/or in secret), we will be rewarded!
- When we pray in secret, we will be rewarded!
I don’t know what the reward is, but I know the God who is giving it. Charle, the blessings go loud!!! May we seek God, not toys. May we seek His righteousness and may we sow great seeds in secret! Hey, you’re blessed!
