There was a fine gentleman (Elliot Baffour) who used to complain that he misplaces and loses his pen very often. So he resorted to use only cheap Bic pens so that he wouldn’t need to worry about losing them. He was really worried about his carelessness habit.

His good friend (Kwadjo Kirk) suggested to him to buy the costliest pen he could afford and see what happens. Elliot did that, saved up some cash and purchased a 10-carat gold Cross pen ($99.0). After nearly six months, Elliot reported to his friend how very careful he was about his costly pen and how surprised he was that he had changed. Kwadjo now explained to him that it was the value of the pen that made the difference and there was nothing wrong with him (Elliot) as a person.

Believe it or not we’re like Elliot most times; this happens in our lives every day (I’m not referring to losing your bic pen regularly lol). But we all are careful with things which we value most:
– If we value our health, we will be careful about what and how we eat (I’m a victim here).
‎If we value people, we are careful to love and help them.

– ‎If we value our relationship with God, we will be careful to make time for Him.

‎If we value money, we will be careful while spending.

– ‎If we value our time, we will not waste it (again, I’m slapping myself with this one).

‎If we value relationships, we will not destroy it nor hurt the other person.

Carelessness seems to be a basic trait all of us have. And it’s not that we don’t know how to be careful, you and I know when to be careful. Carelessness only reveals what we don’t value. I guess the question for us today is this: “What do we value?” Think on this… (we’ll continue tomorrow). Stay blessed and enjoy a lovely day.
