One day, Jesus spoke about two people: a very rich man (like I want to be) and a very poor man (like I don’t want to be), a beggar. And in this life, we can all fall into one of these two, rich or poor. When I first saw this title in my Bible, I thought Jesus will be teaching us how to become rich, but no, it wasn’t on that at all. He was teaching us a common mistake most of us make in life.

It so happens that this rich man had it all, the finest of garments, all the choicest meals, gold and ornaments, you name it. But the poor man could barely make ends meet, eating bread crumbs. On top of it all, he had sores all over and dogs licked his sores. And it happened that the poor man died, and was carried by angels into Abraham’s bosom: and the rich man also died, was buried and was in torment in hell. And beloved, that part of life is inevitable. One day, you and I will be no more.
Whether rich, or poor; educated, or illiterate, we will all die one day. But after death what next? Where is your destination? Are you going to be received by angels into heaven or are you going to go through torments in hell? The rich man didn’t end up in hell because he was rich, no! Neither the poor man in Heaven because of his poverty, NO!NO!NO! The rich man confesses indirectly, “I did not listen to the warnings and teachings of the prophets concerning eternity.” (Luke 16:19-24)
The answer lies in salvation. If you do not have the Lord Jesus as your saviour, no matter what life you live, rich or poor, good or bad, you will end up in a place of torment. But there is eternal hope for the one who believes and accepts Jesus. He is offering you eternal life and hope today, so that when you die one day, the angels will carry you to be with Him. If you want to accept Jesus into your heart, join me in prayer:
“Lord Jesus, I accept your gift of salvation today. I confess my sins and I believe that you died and rose again to save me from eternal torment. Dear Lord, come and live in my heart, teach me your will and give me eternal hope. AMEN!”
Congratulations!! You have made the greatest decision in life, choosing a relationship with Jesus and heaven rejoices with you! Do reach out to us and let’s walk together with Jesus.
