If fornication is sin, why didn’t God wait and give us strong sexual desires when we get married πŸ’? And what is love anyway? Does physical attraction and desire not count with the Godly kind of love ❀?”

I would like to start of first with this. As Christians our military handbook/cheatsheet is our Bible. All the information we seek can be found in there by the guidance of the Spirit of God. So with that premise I would take all my definitions about Love from the Bible.

From 1 Corinthians 13:4 we learn about Love: it is patient and kind, it envies not, etc. And God displayed all these attributes perfectly with the sending of His Son Jesus to die to redeem a fallen humanity. Hence we say God is Love because He is inherently patient and kind, He not, etc.

Humans therefore cannot love without the help of God, that is through the Holy Spirit who lives in us. We know this because He convicts us of all that is not Love; all that is not of God. That’s my answer to the question what is Love?

Concerning why God did not wait and give us strong sexual desires in marriage, my opinion on that is everything in this life that is precious is precious became it has gone through fire or testing.

Gold is precious because it goes through fire and comes out shinnnyyyy.

So sexual desire that only comes during marriage is not precious or would not be precious. It becomes precious when it has gone through the fire; say sexual temptations and withstood it to the Glory of God.

And God wants us to have precious sexual relations in our marriages that glorify Him, so it’s important it goes through the ‘fire’ first.

On the third one, I believe physical attraction matters greatly even in the Godly kind of Love. If they didn’t matter God wouldn’t have given us eyes to see.

But I believe a life that is lived in Christ sees beyond the outward appearance, to character, morals, etc. It looks deeper hence decisions aren’t solely made by outward appearances. Because these are usually deceptive as we all know.

So I believe yeah if a girl or guy is fine yes by all means approach but when you get there look beyond the looks, look deeper: into the heart, mind, morals, character and more. Because when you don’t do that you won’t see the full picture. This has become quite long..my badπŸ˜…

These are my opinions and they could be totally off. So please I’d love to learn what your thoughts are also. God bless you.” ~ Kweku Nelson (IG: kweku_nelson)
