“If fornication is sin, why didn’t God wait and give us strong sexual desires when we get married π?”
You see God knows we’ll experience these sexual desires, and all the more reason why He’s given us the chance to make choices and right decisions. God can’t wait for everyone to get married before giving out these desires. He has created us in His own image: with self-control, power over sin, power to decree and declare, among others, to make our decisions.

With love, it is well defined in 1 Cor 13. Physical attraction (especially with its accompanying desires) counts in the Godly kind of Love, only when you find the right person. Trust me friend, if you pray for God to give you the right person, you won’t even think about fornication. Everything will move smoothly from one step to another. God bless youπ” ~ Patience Frimpong

“I’ve been critically thinking about this question since I became an adolescent.
What I concluded is if God had given us strong desire after marriage then really one of the fruits He requires of us to bear, which is self-control (Gal 5:23), wouldn’t be necessary or wouldn’t even be required of us at all.
God wants us to learn how to keep our emotions in check. Like Paul in 1 Cor 9:27, we should be able to keep our bodies, and bring it into subjection lest by any means we are cast away and disqualified from the prize.

And what is love anyway? Does physical attraction and desire not count with the Godly kind of love β€?”
Love has been perfectly defined in 1 Cor 13 and I believe love is God’s gift to mankind. There are three kinds of love and all three are represented in the Bible, which means that all three are considered to be created and blessed by God.
Eros is the emotion we probably think of first when thinking of love. Phileo, in contrast, is a more stable and constant emotion we share with our brothers and families and the almighty Agape love is what God shows to humanity.

Well, physical attraction is key in every romantic relationship. If you ain’t attracted to someone physically you will probably not be able to have any intimate relationship with him/her. However, that is not the sole decision making factor to think that you love someone.
In fact the unseen parts of humans make most of their total being and so more attention should be placed there. Take time to know someone and do not love solely based on what you see.
I believe love is a decision and when you decide to love above just emotions, all other things will follow. Like Jesus, lets put in efforts to love unconditionally.” ~ Caroline (Fb: Awuraa Abena Ohenewaah Appiah)
