Do you know a place where there’s unlimited free WiFi available? Well my university campus, KNUST, has this available. But tell me, does knowing about the place and the unlimited data available give you access to the WiFi? You guessed right, no!

You have to first get in range of the WiFi server (I can’t access KNUST from my room in Kotei), turn your WiFi on (you may have to change some settings), open the internet and voila! Now you have access.
Grace is like free WiFi, it’s there, it’s unlimited. And you may know of it, know all about it but not have it.
You need to position yourself to access grace…and this positioning has little/nothing to do with walking to Church.
Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elderly. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 1 Peter 5:5-7 #Bible
In the New Testament, “Grace and peace be unto you” is a common blessing, even a greeting (Romans 1:7; 1Cor 1:3; Rev. 22:21). The early disciples seemed to understand that, “It is not he that runneth and willeth, but God who shows mercy.” You have to let that sink in, “it is God who shows mercy.” If you can’t remember anything from this Devotional, remember “it is God who shows mercy.”
If you’re like Peter, the one who betrayed Jesus, because of a little girl; if you’re also the one who caught nothing all night but had a great catch when Jesus came around, then you’ll understand why you need multiples of grace and mercy.
Beloved, Jesus came to give us grace: “From the fullness of His grace, we all have received one blessing after the other…”
Note this from the verse above: grace is full in Christ but you and I need to receive it.
For instance, the greatest/fullest expression of Grace was Jesus dying on the cross to give as salvation. And guess what, that has to be received. Salvation is there for everyone but only those who can receive it can access it (just like free WiFi).
Similarly when Peter says, “Grace and peace be multiplied to you…,” that grace abounds or is plenty for all. Again, it’s like lots of chocolate bars being thrown randomly, in a room full of kids, or adults, or adults kids lol. Even as they fall, you have to catch it to have it. Even more, you have to sometimes place yourself in a certain position or space to catch a chocolate bar.
In a similar manner grace needs to be accessed. Yes it is available to all, but you can’t access it until you position yourself to receive it.
Let me share with you one of the ways to access this grace: Humility. 1 Peter 5:5 says, “… be clothed with humility; for God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
Thus to access grace, we must wear humility like a robe, we must display it! This is very important. First of all, humility is a personal decision of the heart. You have to tell your heart daily, “I humble myself to God’s word, I humble myself to the leading of the Holy Spirit, I humble myself to authority or my leaders, I humble myself for advice and counsel…etc.”
Secondly, you’ve got to actually live it out. Let the humility in the heart be expressed on the outward. Let all who see you see a display of humility.
God hates pride! I dare say that pride is the greatest sin in the world; that was Lucifer’s sin that got him thrown out from heaven. Pride is a big ‘yam’ that needs to be dropped (if you didn’t get that, I recommend you read Drop That Yam by Rev. Simon Ampofo).
In simpler terms, pride is a huge weight that must be dropped. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want God to resist me and oppose me, I want God to rather exalt me.

Bishop Peter, introduces himself in 2 Peter 1:1 as “I, Simon Peter, a SERVANT and an apostle of Jesus Christ…”
Do you remember the only instance Jesus says learn from me? “Take my yoke and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble at heart.“ Remember, the greatest virtue you can have is Humility! May grace multiply to you as you live in humility. Stay blessed.
