Can you imagine finally finding the love of your life, after searching for a long time for the right person?
You decide to get married. You’ve gone for counseling, you’ve set your wedding date, made all plans for a wonderful honeymoon, you’ve even started thinking of having cute babies and enjoying life together with this person.
Suddenly, a huge blow hits, wham! One that potentially damages all your dreams and future together, what will you do?
And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. 38 And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her. ~ Luke 1:30-31, 38. #Bible
Sometimes we have no idea that God is interested in our lives, that He has a plan and purpose for your life. What I described above was the story of Mary and Joseph. They had made great plans to marry and enjoy life, but God stepped in, without prior notice, and distorted their program.
He said to Mary, “Listen, I have a purpose for you, a much bigger plan than yours, will you accept to put off your plans and take on mine?”

Beloved, when we do not have an idea of what God wants for us, we tend to easily give in and give up in life. If you knew the beautiful marriage God has stored for you, you would stop worrying about that boy/girl who is just using you and value your purity.
If we knew the abundant blessings waiting for us, we’d stop grumbling and learn the lessons He’s taking us through; if only we knew. One thing you and I need to constantly pray for, “Lord reveal to us your will and your purpose for our lives.”

Thankfully God revealed His plan to Mary, and she accepted the responsibility. She didn’t put God on blue-tick, she didn’t say ‘wait for me to marry first,’ or ‘finish my doctorate.’
And don’t for an instance think it was easy (in Mary’s day) to have a child when you were not married. It wasn’t at all! The ridicule that came with it, the disgrace, in fact, you were supposed to be stoned! But Mary says, “Yes Lord, let your will be done in my life.”
This is what Jesus calls us to do. “Deny yourself, take my yoke upon you, be willing to lose your life for me and you will find true life in me.”
You have to ask God to reveal to you His specific plan and purpose for your life, but He gives every Christian a couple of foundational purposes to carry out:
#1. Share the gospel of grace:
Jesus said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” ~ Mark 16:15.
Submitting to this plan like Mary did may sound like this: “Lord, asking me to share the Gospel with my friends and invite them to church is uncomfortable for me and they’ll call me all sort of names. Lord you know I’m already shy, and if I do this some will shun my company, some may ‘zone’ me even, but I believe in your plan for me, I am in agreement, let your will be done.“

#2. Love for your neighbor.
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” ~ John 13:34.
Jesus loved us by giving, even giving His life, and sacrificing for us. Dear Christian, one of your basic purposes in life is to love and sacrifice for others. Sacrifice for your neighbor in need, have compassion for others.
“Lord, I don’t have much, if I give some of this out to help my neighbor in need, I don’t know how I’ll survive with my budget o, but I believe in you, let your will be done.”
Mary accepted God’s plan and through her Jesus came into our world to save us all. It is time to believe and hold on to God’s purposes and trust Him to help you bring a change in your family, your friend, at work, in your hostel, everywhere you go.
God bless you as live in His will. Kindly share this with your friends and family.

If you’re reading this and you want to surrender to Jesus, like the Mary did and had her life turned around, pray this with me: “Lord Jesus, I accept you into my life as my Lord and personal Saviour. I repent of my sins and take refuge in your cleansing blood. Come and be the Lord and Master of my life. Teach me to live a life worthy of my salvation, make me more like you. Amen!”
