One day, one of my mentors switched on his laptop and noticed it was behaving abnormally. It had become very slow. As the day progressed, its performance got so bad till it reached a point where it could not function any more; viruses had attacked the hard disk. So he had to get and install an antivirus to locate and destroy all the viruses.

You may remember this popular “ILOVEYOU” email virus that caused over $10 billion in damages (infected almost 10% of computers across the world); devastating!

I’m pretty sure you’ve had to deal with this too, not so?? I believe we’ve all had our fair share our annoying computer viruses and quite recently the entire world has had to deal with deadly human viruses: AIDS, COVID, Monkeypox, Marburg, etc. And in the case of the human virus, things get pretty bad quickly; the virus replicates so fast; your defences are overpowered, and without appropriate medical care, vaccines, etc., it leads to death and many dire consequences.

Don’t forget, viruses are not made from within us, we get them externally…!7xo8y1lu2fi81

“And even as they did not like to retain God in[their] knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,…” ~ Romans 1:28-29

Our brain is the hard disk of our body and life. Every day, it is being attacked by viruses from social media, TV, friends, films, music, and even negative words. You may not realize it, but this eventually corrupts our minds, reflects in our decisions, and finally shows in our actions.

We begin to do things that are not convenient or helpful. You may become involved with greed, gossip, slander, pornography, drugs, infidelity, stealing, the occult, lying, or even exhibit a bad temper, etc. These are only fruits of the virus-seed sown.

Thankfully, God has provided an anti-virus to debug the mind; a vaccine to prevent our hearts from being corrupted. It is called the Bible. It is the main source of knowledge about God. We need to read our Bibles every day and debug our minds to avoid corruption! Listen, there is no other way besides this – anyone who tells you otherwise does not love you enough.
