One day Albert Einstein was travelling from Princeton on a train when the conductor came down the aisle, punching the tickets of every passenger. When he came to Einstein, Einstein reached into his vest pocket but couldn’t find his ticket. He could not find his ticket, so he reached in his trouser pockets. It wasn’t there, so he looked in his briefcase but couldn’t find it. Then he looked in the seat beside him. He still couldn’t find it.

The conductor said, “Dr Einstein, I know who you are. We all know who you are. I’m sure you bought a ticket. Don’t worry about it.” Einstein nodded appreciatively. The conductor continued down the aisle punching tickets. As he was ready to move to the next car, he turned around and saw the great physicist down on his hands and knees looking under his seat for his ticket.

The conductor rushed back and said, “Dr Einstein, Dr Einstein, don’t worry, I know who you are. No problem. You don’t need a ticket. I’m sure you bought one.” Einstein looked at him and said, “Young man, I too, know who I am. What I don’t know is where I’m going.”

Billy Graham shared this true story in the year 2000 when he was invited to a luncheon organized in his honour. He then told all the many people who had come to honour him that he had bought a brand new fashionable suit for the luncheon and he’ll wear that new suit for one more occasion. Do you know what that occasion was?

This is what he said, in his own words: “This is the suit in which I’ll be buried. But when you hear I’m dead, I don’t want you to immediately remember the suit I’m wearing. I want you to remember this: ‘I not only know who I am…I also know where I’m going.’ ~ Billy Graham

Dear friend, I too know who I am and when I die, I know where I’m going; I bought my ticket to heaven through Jesus Christ. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Then He further gives us this assurance, “and whoever comes to me I will never drive away” ~ John 6:37b.

Dear friend, you may know who you are (Alex, Sandra, Efua the Doctor, Kwaku the Banker, etc.), but do you know where you are going and have you bought your ticket? Can we say our journey on life’s train is heading to Heaven’s gates of glory? You can make that decision and call on Jesus today. You must ask Jesus to come into your heart and life so that He gives you Heaven’s ticket stamp. You have to pray a prayer like this (below) and mean it from the bottom of your heart. Please friend, please put any pride aside and let us pray:

“Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I thank you for dying on the cross to save me from sin and from hell. I repent of my sins and ask you to come into my life this day, come and be my Lord and saviour. Please write my name in your book of life; thank you that I have eternal life now. Amen”

Congratulations!! There is great rejoicing in heaven because of you. You are a new creation and you have your ticket to everlasting because of this choice!
