“Better a dry crust with peace and quiet than a house full of feasting with strife” ~ Proverbs 17:1

We live in a world where people crave for more and more. People are valued based on their paychecks, cars, houses, the custom-made designer dresses they wear, or the restaurants they eat from.

Jesus was quick to remind us that, “a man’s life does not consist of the abundance of things he possesses” (Read Luke 12:15). But this truth does not come home clearly until trouble strikes.

When we are faced with sudden troublelike the wars raging in our world or unfortunate natural disasters – many things lose significance.

  • It is at that point that we value the worth of the peace we enjoy and take for granted.
  • During such times, our bank accounts, cars, and houses lose their importance.
  • All that will matter is safety, water, and probably a dry piece of bread to keep you alive.

We are wiser taking the advice of the wise man in Proverbs 17:1. Appreciate the peace you have than to crave for material things which are here today and are gone tomorrow.

  • Thankfully, every child of God can enjoy the peace of God that transcends all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
  • The Prince of Peace died to give us peace; not the peace of this world but the peace that keeps your heart at rest even amid life’s challenges (John 14:27).

The Bible says, “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you because he trusts in You” ~ Isaiah 26:3.

No matter what you lack in your life today, I encourage you to keep your focus on God. Learn to be thankful for the peace you have in Christ and cast all your cares upon Him for He truly cares for you.

It shall be well with you!

For those of us from Ghana, we are all aware of the presidential elections coming up in December.

In promoting peace towards this crucial moment in our nation’s history, we’re partnering with Cross-Love Movement on a peace campaign dubbed: Today is US! (Details will be communicated in due course).
