Dear friend, our Lord and Saviour minced no words when He spoke concerning our walk on the pathway to eternity in Matthew 7.

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” ~ Matthew 7:13‭-‬14 NIV

This is the believer’s roadmap, GPS or Google map directions!
So if we find ourselves threading a path where we’re holding hands with the majority and walking side by side with them – dashing thro the snow…laughing all the way, ha-ha!may I suggest that we take a step back to really analyse where the road is leading to.

  • Following Christ means you are choosing the narrow way. As long as the earth remains, following Christ will be a narrow way; unless what Jesus said has changed, but it has not.
  • When you look at the number of churches and number of people who say their Christians, you may get the impression that “following Christ has become a broad way and many there be that walk on the right way” but it was not true then and it is still not true.
  • What is happening is that the population has increased greatly and relative to this population, all the Christians combined still make up the narrow way; and the true believers, who are really following the Lord, are indeed the minority.

Many times we want to be in the majority. But in spiritual things, many times, you must seek to be in the minority. In spiritual things, many times the minority is right (Read Numbers 13 – 14).

It is a narrow way, and very few walk in it. I didn’t say it o, the Bible says it, “Enter in by the narrow way… Narrow is the road that leads to life.”

  • Seek to enter on the right way, and you will discover often, that there are not many people on that way with you.
  • You should remember this since we all here want to make it to heaven, and Bible says the way that leads there is narrow and the gate is small.
  • You may always find yourself in the small road when you’re doing the right thing, and you should not be worried about it.

Please remember this: step by step on the way to heaven, you will realise that fewer and fewer and fewer people will be on that road with you.

And because it is narrow, we cannot be comfortable and step to the right and then to the left. I’m sorry but we don’t have the luxury to do what we want, just as we feel, to compromise and do our own thing.

A number of us want to be identified with the broadway and the masses on it. Because there, we are free to do whatever we want.

  • So we are desiring and seeking for access into places unbelievers have access to; parties and events that they love to attend in their masses, we find ourselves joining in. “Oh how quick we are to settle for such pitiful pleasures.”
  • The unhealthy conversation and comments they make on social media, we join in (just for RTs, likes and acceptance); we too want to be ‘woke’, ‘the guy about town’, ‘a bad bitch’, a ‘liberated’ person.

But when it comes to making bold statements about what God says and taking bold stands for the Lord; sharing the Good news, etc., all of a sudden we can’t find our voice nor our keypads.

We leave God on blue-tick…no response. (And note, blue-ticks on messages not replied to are answers too; let’s ponder on that). “Oh Lord, be merciful unto us.”

And you see, because that is not our path, and that road ultimately leads to destruction, we can’t find joy there. We will throw ourselves into bouts of depression, frustration, no joy, no peace, no life, etc., because that path doesn’t have what we need; only our pitiful pleasures.

But when the dancing ceases, when the songs are over, when the music stops, do you know Jesus, does He live in your heart?

  • There is life in Jesus dear one;
  • There is joy in Jesus dear one;
  • There is hope in Jesus dear one! And what’s more, He is constantly reaching out to you and me.

May we find the narrow path and may we receive Grace to walk in it. May our desires be after the narrow path of righteousness, for His name sake; and may we win many to the Lord!

Are you among the few who:
1. Have found the narrow path?
2. Are walking on this narrow path?
3. Will be pulled up by this message of hope and pull others up also? Then please share this with others.

If you’re reading this and you know this message was for you, you find yourself on the broadway with the masses and you want to find the narrow path that leads to eternal life;

OR you were once on this narrow path, but you veered off along the way (that’s alright, it happens), but you want to rededicate your life to the Lord and come on the path, then please let us pray:

“Heavenly father, I admit that I am a sinner and I confess my sins to you. I believe Jesus came to die for my sins, to get me on that narrow path of eternal life.

I confess Jesus as Lord and master over my life this day, and I dedicate/rededicate my life to Him. I receive the good gift of the Holy Spirit as my helper, to lead me in this path. Thank you for eternal life, thank you for joy everlasting, thank you for grace and thank you for saving me. Amen!”

Congratulations!! Heaven rejoices because of you!

Please send us a message if you prayed the prayer; we would like to know you and get in touch with you with a little gift to help you on this new path. Can't wait to hear from you.
