Today we want to share with you a few thoughts about “Exposure” from the life of Jesus.
I believe this is going to be a great blessing to you. Let’s dig in:
After these things Jesus walked in Galilee; for He did not want to walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill Him. Now the Jews’ Feast of Tabernacles was at hand. His brothers therefore said to Him, “Depart from here and go into Judea, that Your disciples also may see the works that You are doing. For no one does anything in secret while he himself seeks to be known openly. If You do these things, show Yourself to the world.” ~ John 7:1-4
To “expose” means to cause someone or something to be influenced or affected by something.
Dear friend, it is not every problem that you must try to tackle or solve; some problems can be avoided by non-exposure, which is the opposite of exposure.
For example, if you have a problem with drinking/stealing, you must be careful not to expose yourself to situations where you can be influenced to drink/steal.
There are certain plans and blessings, which must not be exposed to certain people because if they know it, they will fight it.
This will distract you, drain your energy and sometimes kill what you are doing.
Although Jesus was the son of God and had access to great power, He avoided unnecessary problems with the principle of non-exposure.
He did not walk in Judea, because He knew the Jews wanted to kill Him. His attitude was not, “If God be for me, who can be against me,”but rather, He avoided certain problems.
If you don’t want to marry an unbeliever, do not expose yourself unnecessarily to them.
Make friends and fellowship with Christians so that in case you fall in love, you will fall in love with the right person.
If we desire to know God more, if we desire to be anointed, if we desire to take our walk with God as a WorldCup Final(with utmost seriousness), there are some things we should not expose ourselves to.
What are some of those things?Worldly music, lustful movies, pornography, worldly friends, etc., (please add on to the list)
Conversely, there are some other things we should expose ourselves to constantly: the Bible, teachings of the Word, sermon podcasts or videos, Godly music, books, etc.,(please add on).
Let us decide to expose ourselves to the right things, and avoid the wrong things. It shall be well with our souls! (Starting today, what will you be exposing/not exposing yourself to?)
For no one does anything in secret while he himself seeks to be known openly. If You do these things, show Yourself to the world.” For even His brothers did not believe in Him. Then Jesus said to them, “My time has not yet come, but your time is always ready (John 7:4-6).
Let us learn from Jesus. In fact, let’s just copy Him. Ordinarily, every other person would have taken every opportunity to showcase himself before the public so that he might become famous, but not so with Christ.
Many people leave their place of growth and development and rush out to big platforms, cities, countries, and famous people to make themself a name.
Jesus said: “My time has not yet come, but your time is always ready.” Learn to hide and flourish!
Are we seeking purpose or popularity? Are we truly seeking God or pursuing worldly fame?
Dear friend, it is a dangerous thing to have such ambitions. That is the trait of Lucifer. “You said in your heart, “I will ascend to the heavens… I will make myself like the Most High.”(Isaiah 14:13-14). Please discard all unholy and evil ambitions in your life.
In fact, have visions and not ambitions; because ambitions are self or others inspired, but visions are God-inspired.
And yes, your vision must be great but it must not be unholy, evil, self-seeking, fame-driven, money-driven, etc.
Your vision must be a Godly or holy vision, and the holiest ambition or vision is to please GOD!
May the Lord bless us, may the Lord grant us wisdom and may the precious Holy Spirit guide us. Heyy… you’re blessed and highly favored and dearly loved!
