Forever Young!

7 min read
  • Forever young, I wanna be forever young… do you really want to live forever?
  • Today we share briefly how you can be drawn to a life that never ends and live forever. Let’s dig in:

This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.” (John 6:39-40)

  • Four times in John 6, Jesus said about every believer, “I will raise him up at the last day” (v39-40, 44, & 54). Resurrection to eternal life is a part of salvation.
  • Dear friend, there is a certain last day when the righteous will be raised up and their bodies redeemed unto eternal life (a forever life that never ends).
  • I pray that you and I will be a part of that day; we will not be lost. Jesus said it is God’s will that none of the people who come to Him and believe in Him will be lost (this is the 1st step to living forever).

Dear friend, no one can come to God except by God’s Word through the Holy Spirit and the conviction of his/her own conscience, which is God-given.

No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by God.’ Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me. (John 6:44-45)

  • This is how men are drawn by God. He uses agents to preach His Word (Romans 10:14-17) and the Holy Spirit to convict of sin (John 16:7-11).
  • And then according to the light received, the person’s conscience either condemns or sanctions their lives or actions to be right or wrong.
  • Remember, God draws or allures. God doesn’t drag or use force. Every person has to decide if they will yield to the ‘drawing‘ of God’s Word and the Holy Spirit.

This is why believers have to get active in sharing the Word of God with others. All God needs is someone to sow the seed of His Word. The Holy Spirit will do the rest! (Will you do your part?)

There’s only one source of this eternal life; it’s in the flesh and the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ:

Jesus therefore said to them, “Truly, truly I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the son of man and drink his blood you have no life in yourselves.” (John 6:53)
  • I think there’s always something in every human being, that says, “I don’t like the thought of drinking blood and eating flesh.”
  • And when Jesus made this statement, many of His disciples left Him: “We can’t take that kind of talk” [v60, 66 paraphrased].
  • I have had to humble myself before the Word of God, not to argue with it. We are to drink Jesus’ blood and feed on His flesh to have eternal life.
These days, I've come to love it when my spiritual father (during communion), says: we are about to drink Jesus' blood and eat His flesh; we're doing blood rituals.
“Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For My flesh is food indeed [true food], and My blood is drink indeed [true drink]. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.” (John 6:54–56)

Note that the words eats, drinks, and abides” are in the continuing present tense: “He who continually feeds on My flesh, and continually drinks My blood, continually abides in Me and I in him.”

  • It is very clear that the Lord attaches tremendous importance to feeding on His flesh, drinking His blood, and abiding in Him!
  • I really believe He is talking about the Lord’s Supper or Communion (for the first two) and living according to His Word and Holy Spirit (abiding in Him).
  • Remember that we overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb, the word of our testimony, and not loving our lives unto death (a life yielded to the Holy Spirit).
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death (Revelations 12:11)

Can we make this our prayer response?
Thank You, Heavenly Father, for drawing me into your family. Thank you for the precious blood of Jesus. I partake of His eternal life by drinking His blood and feeding on His flesh, and I proclaim that I overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of my testimony, and I do not love my life to death. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

If you are not born again or you want to re-dedicate your life to the Lord, I want you to know that decision is the best thing that can ever happen to you. All you need to do is to believe in your heart and pray this prayer with me in faith:

“Jesus, You died upon the cross and rose again to save the lost. Forgive me now of all my sins. Come be my Savior, my Lord, and my Friend. Change my life and make it new and help me, Lord, to live for You. Today, I choose to respond to your great love; thank you for loving me. Please give me your Spirit, that I may live a life that pleases you, Amen!”

  • Congratulations!! There is great rejoicing in heaven because of you. You are a new creation and you have your ticket to everlasting life because of this choice!
