It was evening at the Gaza hostel, and I went into the kitchen to wash my cup after a enjoying a milo drink with bread and egg (bachelor’s meal). So I get to the kitchen and to my surprise, there is this cockroach trapped in the wet sink. It was desperately trying to escape especially when I open the tap and the water or even its droplets fell on it. But each time I closed the tap, it stopped struggling or trying to escape.

Then it dawned on me that this is what most people are facing right now. We’ve been trapped in a sink by the enemy (in sin). And whenever the enemy feels like it, he opens taps of trouble on our lives. The Israelites were trapped in Egypt under similar circumstances. Each time the Egyptians or Pharoah desired, he would open a tap of troubles and increase their troubles. This is the state we find ourselves in.

Yet what we want and even pray for is for the tap to be closed, not for us to leave the trap/sink. Beloved when the tap is closed, you’re only resting from the troubles till they are opened again. God had to deliver the Israelites and take them out of Egypt to a land flowing with milk and honey. May this grace find you and deliver you from every trapping of the enemy. “The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.  He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them.” ~ Psalm 145:18‭-‬19

Dear friend, it is time to watch and pray. Notice the trappings of the enemy and learn to direct your prayers to the right cause. Are you a cockroach in a sink? Are you struggling with troubles and problems all over? Are you battling a peculiar sin over and over again? Do not pray for the problems to stop. Ask that God’s hand delivers you from that trap/sin. His grace is sufficient for you and I.

Stay blessed and kindly share with friends and family.
