I remember when I almost gave up on Biochemistry because I felt it was really tough at a point. Biophysics exam was coming up and I wanted to leave school and get into something else. At that moment, a friend shared something with me that strengthened me and helped me pull through. Here’s what she said:

“Following God means finishing what He has called us to do. And most of this is up to us, it’s not all up to God. He has done His part and given us everything we need in Christ. It is up to us to keep learning, growing, and letting the Spirit of God work in us. You cannot give up and leave your post.

She continued, “Eric, take time to consider the things God has called you to do and ask yourself, “What am I doing today to finish strong what God has set before me?”

Beloved God has great plans for you. Plans to prosper you, plans to give you a hope and a future, to bring you to an expected end. Receive them by faith and go after them with all your heart. God has set before you to read (…insert program…) Or to work (…insert workplace) and from there He’ll take you to another stage. Don’t despise this stage, don’t abandon it, don’t leave your post yet.

After my friend spoke with me, I was encouraged and so I prayed to God to strengthen me and grant me understanding in my studies (everyday o). I would pray and then I would sit down to study. I say this to God’s glory, I finished that course and my entire program with a first class honors, even won a couple of awards. Now I’m done with school and I’m still trusting every step of the way.

Dearly beloved, God knows why He’s taking you through this stage, it is most likely a preparatory ground. But now, it is up to you to do all you can to let His glory be seen in that field. May grace help you bring out the best you can be, Amen.”

Prayer: Heavenly Father, like Jesus said, I want to be able to say that I have completed and finished the work you set before me. Thank you that you’re working in me to give me power and the desire to live for your glory and to finish my (exam/program/nss/work) with joy.

Stay blessed and kindly share with friends and family.

  1. God bless you. Great message. Jesus Started and Finished. He said it out loud that “it is finished”. I have done what you asked me to do. Starting is not as difficult as finishing what you started. We need more than just an ambition to finish what we start. Endurance, passion, determination. Above all the Grace of God. The author and the finisher of our faith will not leave us in the way. His Love is everlasting.
