Today we’re reading Proverbs 5; but here are some wisdom thoughts from yesterday’s reading of Proverbs 4:

Benji shares:
He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live. ~ Proverbs 4:4 KJV
I can relate to this verse so much. One common thing is to go to church or lecture but forget whatever was taught within a twinkle of an eye.
Wisdom teaches me to deliberately retain the word of God in my HEART… I have made up my mind to do so. ~ Benjamin, UK

Keziah shares:
Do not set foot on the path of the wicked or walk in the way of evildoers. Avoid it, do not travel on it; turn from it and go on your way. For they cannot rest until they do evil; they are robbed of sleep till they make someone stumble. ~ Proverbs 4:14-16 NIV
Don’t even try to cross the path of wicked people 🙏 [stay far away from such people].
Also the heart should be guarded well and we have to make sure we do the right things at all times. ~ Keziah Ampofo

Yesu Maame shares,
What I picked from today’s reading was Proverbs 4:4-6.
And my favorite was the verse 6 “Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you.”
Can’t explain but I love what is in there.. ~ Mary, Nurse

I’ll expand a bit on what Keziah hinted about:
Guard your Heart with all diligence; for out of it flows the issues of life. ~ Proverbs 4:23

The heart being talked about here is not the organ that pumps blood (shown above). Sometimes you hear people in relationships say, “I love you from the bottom of my heart/ You broke my heart.” That’s the heart we’re talking about.

Some say it’s our conscience, or our mind, others say it’s our soul, etc. Whatever you call it, you need to understand that it is from this heart that ALL ISSUES of life flow: success, joy, happy relationships, financial issues, as well as sorrow, misfortune, betrayal, etc.

All these spring from the heart. It is the source of prosperity and also the source of destruction. Do you realize how important this heart is now?
How would you guard a treasure of diamonds left in your care? Guard your heart that way, it is the wellspring of your life.

Stay blessed and kindly share your thoughts of wisdom on Proverbs 5.
