Please Don’t Be Poor!

4 min read

“Wealth attracts many friends, even the closest friend of the poor person deserts them” ~ Proverbs 19:4.

Today’s key scripture talks about the misery of poverty in this side of life. Many other verses in the book of Proverbs convey the same message.

In Proverbs 19:7, we are again told that “the poor are shunned by all their relatives, how much more do their friends avoid them.“ This, unfortunately, is the stark reality in our world.

Have you ever attended a ceremony of a very wealthy person in your city? You can expect the ceremony to attract all kinds of important people in society, even busy Presidents.

But this could never be the case for a poor person. Even your special day could be forgotten by your friends and family. Mercy! (Declare, “I will never be broke in my life!“)

I pray that the Lord, in His mercy, will take poverty far away from us. I also pray that He will bless us with good gold. This was God’s original idea in the Garden of Eden (Gen 2:11-12).

“The name of the first is the Pishon; it winds through the entire land of Havilah, where there is gold. (The gold of that land is good; aromatic resin and onyx are also there).”

One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.” – Proverbs 11:24-25

Ssshhh🤫 we just may have discovered one secret to escaping poverty, an ancient secret to prosperity called Generosity. Perhaps this is what is missing from our lives.
We want to encourage you to change that from today. Let us give freely to help others, to support God’s work, to cater for the less privileged, etc., and we will have even more.

If we choose to go contrary to this and be selfish with our resources, withholding help from others… we will end on the opposite side: poverty. I choose to give more! What do you choose? 🤔

However, you will notice in the scriptures that the greatest kind of poverty is not a lack of money.

It is the poverty of the mind. Indeed ignorance is not just a misery but also a very costly disease. The Bible says, “For lack of knowledge my people perish” (Hosea 6:4).

This is our prayer for you today. May the Lord God grant us wisdom, knowledge, and understanding in all matters of life (Daniel 1:20).

You will be rich in ideas and have great insight into your area of expertise! I see you reigning in life through wisdom and knowledge that comes from our Lord Jesus Christ. You shall not be poor!
